Timothy “Tim” Bivens, PTA

Clinical Supervisor/Physical Therapist Assistant

Timothy “Tim” Bivens is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with over 17 years of clinical experience. He has 5 years experience as a PTA Clinical Instructor and worked as an adjunct instructor for Craven Community College PTA program for 2 years. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings including inpatient, home health, skilled nursing, and outpatient. He has worked with patients ranging in age from adolescent to geriatric with varying degrees of functional abilities. Multiple years of education and experience have provided Tim with a well-rounded perspective on “health” and how physical therapy is utilized to improve function in order to improve our health and well-being. The combination of nearly 8 years of military experience and parents that taught the value of work and overcoming hardships left a lasting impression that the “proof is in the details.” Meaning, the small things matter. More times than not, we experience the greatest progress when we understand the “why” and develop an effective plan as to how to treat the problem. Empathy, compassion, and knowledge of self are some of the tools required to assist you with achieving your functional and PT goals. Tim was born/raised in Marshville, NC and has lived in Jacksonville, NC since 2004. His family has a long lineage of military service, as he served with the USN as a Hospital Corpsman for nearly 8 years. Tim went on to graduate from Arapahoe Community College with AA in Physical Therapy Assistant in 2009, completed a BS in Health Promotions and Business (minor) from Appalachian State University in 2018. He is the proud father of 3 and enjoys living life.
